Robert Lange carries out research projects in four areas of science and environmental education: creating techniques and programs for professional development and training for school teachers, combining the goal of mastering content with that of mastering methods; initiating and supporting innovations in environmental education for students and teachers in Africa; establishing opportunities for afterschool interactions between inner-city youth and scientists, and studying their impact; and developing the potential for educational cooperation between scientists and religionists to strengthen the environmentalism of both groups.
